Tell us a little bit about your family.
We have four children of our own, along with three dogs, two cats and a lizard. We’re a close-knit family who enjoys everything from movie nights, to quiet evenings and hiking in nature.
Leanna is a homemaker, home-school teacher and author. Stephen is a pastor, author and Bible college instructor.
How long have you been fostering?
We took in our first foster kids in 2022, and have had five in total over the last year and a half, including providing respite care.
What made you want to become foster parents?
Lamentations 3:51 says, “Mine eye affecteth mine heart…” We saw the great need for foster/adoption here in Arizona and decided to be a part of the solution.
What has been the hardest part about fostering?
Waiting, uncertainty and saying goodbye to kids we fell in love with.
What has been the sweetest part about fostering?
Getting to be a part of changing a child’s life for the better and showing them love in a way they may have never experienced before.
What advice would you share with others who are considering becoming foster parents?
Pray about it. Be sure this is right for your family and then be ready to love unconditionally.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
We can’t wait to grow our family through foster care and adoption!
